The SG provides guidance for the day to day running of the Secretariat and send Quarterly Updates to AIPP members and contacts. She also facilitates the decision-making process among the Executive Council and Board members, while one staff has been assigned to help the AIPP Committees. Two Executive Council meetings are held each year while the AIPP committees meet at least once a year. The Secretariat also facilitates the participation of indigenous representatives to most of the networking and advocacy activities.
